I realy like your kusamono, it is soo beautiful!

Really great, I love the pots in the third and fourth photos. I have had my nose to the ground looking for kusamono yamadori (is that an accurate description?) as I wait for trees to fill out, it been a lot of fun and good distraction in the mean time. I need to sneak into my wife's ceramic studio or get her to make me more pots! Thanks for the inspiration.

Nice photographs of accent plants. Have you tried mixing different species in the same pot? They might be a bit more artistic.

I assume "Sekimoriishi" means "rock tied in rope". I believe David had this idea well before the Japanese except his had an opening for flinging at Goliath.

I will have to build a "Chiriana" (Hole dust). Does anyone have pictures ? I have only found two examples :

What is a hole dust and what is the purpose, please?

I was curious too and did a few search variations and found this:

chiriana 塵穴 - dust hole. This is a mortared or cement hole placed in area in full view of guests and near the teahouse entry. A symbol of disposing of the dust and clutter of the garden as guests dispose of dust and clutter of the world outside.

On the ground a pace inside the gateway we have placed the Chiriana [dust hole], where one may dispose of mental dust/rubbish, such as selfish desires, before embarking on ones journey round the garden.

I just finished building a Chiriana. This is pretty basic and easy to achieve. As it should, it is placed near the teahouse entry. It is one of the many symbols of the Chaniwa garden.

It must be patinated: Time will do this.

I will plant sagina near this "dust hole"

Yes, the pot is from England: Victor Harris (ERIN pottery)

I exclusively use draining soil for my kusamono: Akadama, pumice, pozzolana, kanuma....
