Just bought those 2 pots at an auction and I was wondering if anybody here could identify the stamps ?

Not sure about the first, so hopefully Ryan will see this. I'm sure it's something easy, just newer than what I have to go by.

The second reads 'Keizan-en', turn it one click counter-clockwise.

Let's see the whole pot(s)!

I found the first chop on Ryans Chop and Signature Resource, it is Kaiyou. Wink

You are very correct. And it is in my catalog plain as day, not sure how I missed it! It is listed there as Kaiyou Seitou.

Beautiful pots, hope you did well on them!

The Kaiyou is a relatively inexpensive pot mass manufactured in Tokoname. The Keizan, on the other hand, is a very nice pot, made by Hisada Shizuo, also Tokoname. I think maybe he made a few too many pots, otherwise they would be worth more, as many of them are very high quality with tight attention to details and great burnished finishes. They're always relatively cheap on the open market in Japan, a real bargain!
