Yesterday High of 80 deg.F and low of 70-69 deg.F and it is raining all day-s

To the hardheads out there,

when it rains heavily for days on this island, nothing grows.

When the days shorten and evening /nights /early morning start hitting low 70's deg.F [ 22 deg.C ] growing slows and stops. The rain just boosts the situation.

I cannot speak for the Equator, just latitude 10 to 11 degrees.

Additionally, Ficus b, and all of the other Ficus are not native to the West Indies [ Caribbean ] and in fact may come from much cooler zones [ note the information from the Vietnamese poster - temps of 50 deg.F = 10 deg.C - way past our normal limits ]

So please note tropicals from our side do rest from anywhere after October until the middle of February / Beginning of March.

Please no more assumptions that all Tropicals are ever growing -   

Hey L.L.B if I drilled a hole through the earth I would end up so many miles from you - didn't really note that before. However if you are at a higher elevation, as your homeland has some great mountain heights, which I wish we had, your climate could be even cooler than mine.

Oh yes and please note with the exception of maybe your higher mountains, the sunlight is stronger down here, than say
deserts, and those areas that average 100's in summer [ deg.F ]
One wonders how much of a graphic change shorter days might signify?

Well, just remember...there are a lot of tree species he can't grow because it's not cold enough (unless he jumps through all kinds of hoops to provide an artificial cold season). Larch, anyone?
