This tree has gone through some remarkable transformations over the years, thank you for sharing! Have you considered simplifying the line even further? Maybe something like this:

I realize that 2-D photos don't tell the full story and there may be a reason that you're keeping both sides. Part of the wild character of the tree may be in the design you've chosen (and the trunks you've removed). However, I keep seeing Dr. Doolittle's "pushmepullyou" when both sides are so evenly matched on on each side of the pot.

I think you should just lower than the height of a party, complete removal is not necessary.

two really nice trunks but they dont complement each other as one tree (in a photo) - the left hand trunk is fantastic but for me personally the other trunk is too straight, and the way it leans away with the inner branches wired upwards gives an unstable feel - the tree, and eye, is pulled apart rather than drawn in to the design as it doesnt know if it goes left or right.

i think it is because the material divides too high up for a twin trunk - making it look like a Y or catapult. As an 'in leaf' tree the silloette will be fantastic , but for winter images the two trunks are unbalanced because they are too equal.

It may be a few years before you reduce one - but it is worth considering.

Thank you guys for all ideas. I am considering lowering one trunk...the right one as tap pi lu showed for some time. But, as with all things, untill I'm not completely sure with my decision...I don't do anything. I just give myself some time...for the ideas to mature. I am aware of unbalanced sort of situation and I also notice trunks that are of similar hight.

I prefer the 1st virt of Joey removing the right branch entirely. Reducing it is also good but because of the very thick branch it still doesn't "flow" as nice for me. If you can reduce the height and girt of the right branch by carving, maybe that is the best solution.

Hi morning. Of course then. If you want to reduce the height to be done by the method of engraving. If only 1 party. I will keep to the left and to reduce the height to redirect. the tree will have very soft flexible.

I have shortened right trunk for about 10cm. Also, in process of analyzing the tree with Walter Pall we have decided to tilt the tree to the right to visualy make rught trunk even shorter.
Here it is in leaf, right hand trunk is a bit short of leaves in the apical part due to hard pruning few weeks ago. It will fill up in a few days time.

Only my opion !!! I would keep both trunks,, without either trunk the tree is not balenced to me.. the way you have it looking with the tilt to the right at repotting looks very nice to me..great tree !! take care john

I agree, plus: I think it will look much better when two tops join together & form only one top!

Of course, that's the main goal now

I agree with JMcCoy Sebastijan. Specifically, the first image where the r. trunk is gone. The tree is much more dynamic and to me, doesn't look off balanced. Just my opinion of course ;-)

i also think both trunks is the opinion for me to, but i mine opinion you have to make a choise on wich side you buils up the tree.
It's going in 2 different directions.
