BRASS POT BONSAI
I found this brass container about 25 years ago in a business in San Francisco called BUSVAN STORAGE COMPANY, a moving and storage company that is long gone.
Today I got the idea to put this bunjin juniper and the grass into the pot and create an
unusual landscape. Or whatever you want to call it. Height including pot is about 32 inches.

Hi Mike
Is the pot Brass or Bronze?
It could be a Doban or incence burner.
Nice tree and is the grass as yellow in real life
Regards Chris

Hi Chris
The pot is solid brass.
The colors in the posted image are pretty much true to life. The grass is naturally yellow.

Re: BRASS POT BONSAI
Dear Mike
What an amazing container. It also looks to me like bronze and not brass. When you shine it, does it shine to a gold or copper?
Brass is an alloy of Copper and Zinc, Bronze is an alloy between Copper and Tin. Sculptures in the park is made of Bronze. Musical instruments like trumpets are made of Brass.
Brass items are made to Shine.
Bronze items can be left to oxidized into the well know grey-green-blue patina - which takes years.
Bur ofcourse you will Know, I'm just contemplating, forgive me.
But what I really want to know is, The grass is it Acorus gramineus? (Flag grass) for it is truely an amazing specimen! It almost has a red stripe in it! I have never seen that on a Acorus. Very nice indeed. You should clone it.

Andre, I think the grass is acorus gramineus Ogon.
Regarding the pot, it probably is bronze.
