First hi to all from Slovenia (since this is my first post it is polite to at least say hi Wink ). It is fantastic to see awesome trees and work from all over the world in one place.

I would like to show you my recent work on small Pinus sylvestris, yamadori, that I collected myself. The tree is only 14 cm tall (measured from roots to the top). In the future I plan to fill up the upper part of the lower branch and the top.
At this stage I am starting to think about the pot for this tree, so what pot would you chose?

Please fell free to comment!

hi Matej, and welcome to the forum,

what a lot of character in such a small pine - very nice find. I rerally like the angle you've chosen - For a pot i would look for an unglazed rectangle f you want a trational look, or a rustic cresent or slab for a modern look, and it depends how compact the roots are too - you may need to pot down in several stages.

cheers Marcus

Thank you Marcus!
Repoting will be done in several stages (I would not want to risk the health of the tree just for sake of fitting it to a desired pot, although I admit it can be very tempting Wink. Your idea of the slab I like the most. I think it would brig out the rough character of this tree.

Take care!

A slab would be good, or perhaps one of those gourd-shaped scoop pots that give the impression of the tree growing in a pocket on a ledge.

Thank you tiennavi and Craig Cowing. As for the age I would not dare to guess, but I assume that it is not so young, because it was growing in horribile conditions. I have it for three years now.
Your idea of the pot seems interesting as well.

Take care!
