For those of you who knew Jim Smiths son Doug; he passed away this afternoon. I received this very saddening email today:

Friends,

Jim Smith has asked me to let you all know that his son, Doug, died this afternoon while in hospice care. Jim and Billie were with him, and he had a peaceful end. As most of you know, Doug has been struggling with cancer and recently had a small stroke.

I’ve known Doug for seven or eight years, just a small bit of time in the world of Bonsai, ...

Along with the changes on the Forum, I've been busy sorting out a new look, with improved navigation buttons, up above, and a Home page (first new button, top left) that you may not have noticed. One feature on the Home page that I find very useful is the ability to click on "View posts since last visit" at the top of the left column.
A friend had the excellent idea of making a Google map of bonsai places in France and around.

But so far, the British isles look like a desert

See the map : Map of Bonsai places in France and around

Yet, it's more convenient for many to cross the Channel than to travel over 1000 km to go to Spain!

Help me : post a reply in this thread with the name, address, website, etc. of any place related to bonsai.

PS: The colour code on the map goes like that:

Very recently, I spoke with her son Bruce's wife. Bruce has given-up other responsibilities to care of his mom at her home. Lynn is no longer able to communicate and is primarily suffering dementia while presently bedridden.

Close bonsai & stone friends assumed Lynn would recover. Many know her strength of character and ...
