Hello All,

after all Chinese and Vietnamese stones I need to share with you a nice Suiseki Lover: Rafael Monje.

All stones are natural ,no cut, no polished, only clean following Japanese suggestions. He made a very nice

exhibit in Madrid at beginning of November. Chris, in a sense my suiseki brother, told me to share directly the pictures of

rafael and his stones, here below two pictures for beginning:

I hope you will like them,

On the bonsai forum, Jose Luis Rodriguez has shared some stunning photos & descriptions encouraging bonsai enthusiasts to visit the ASPAC convention in Taiwan (late October/early November). Traveling to the convention website, there is a suiseki_gallery. I suppose these are stones, roots and even a few sculptures from throughout the Asia-Pacific rim. While we hear of Chinese, Japanese & Korean stone aesthetic with different emphasis in each, broad collecting covers great variety. ...

Hello.

This stone comes from the Danube River in Slovakia. What is your opinion on this stone?

Is it suitable for presentation as suiseki? Daiza is made of poplar wood, stained mahagony.

Thank you for your comments.

Have a nice day. Vlado

I don't think these can be considered as suiseki, but I think they are funny: I found them in my garden, the first one can evoke a lot of different things, depending on the angle you view it (from dinosaur dung to... various things )

But from this angle, I can see an owl :

The second one I find quite intriguing: is it a fossil egg, a natural concretion, a sculpture from outer space?...

If I can find a flowering rabbit-shaped bonsai, maybe i could use it for ...

Minnesotans love their rocks but few understand the art of suiseki. The Minnesota Bonsai Society held it's yearly judged show this past weekend at the State Fair Horticultural building. Almost 2 million people were at the record breaking fair this year which kept our club very busy explaining such things as: the difference between "years old" and "years trained". It seems very important to the public to know the age of each bonsai

Our club has, over the years, ...

Hello,

I will be visiting San Fran from Seattle in the beginning of October. Up here in Seattle, there aren't any suiseki-type clubs.

I have been trying to search the internet for the webpage of the San Fran Suiseki Club, but can't find anything. I'm pretty sure there is one. I would like to get ahold of members who might tell me if there are any suiseki/viewing stone related places to visit while I am there. Does anyone here belong to that club, or live in the san fran area?

I just found a suiseki last month from the river, I do like its eye. Dear suiseki friend, what do you say?
