IBC Great Fundraising Pot Auctions

Post  Kev Bailey on Wed Oct 28, 2009 4:36 pm

Behind the scenes, many of our lovely Potters and at least one non IBC potter have been spurred into a frenzy of activity. The reason for their hard toil, to each produce a pot for us to auction to you, dear readers.

What better way for us to raise much needed funds and help our potter community to promote their wares.

Horst has kindly donated this beautiful pot for us to auction. Bidding can start now at €25 (that's Euro's for anyone who is unfamiliar).

Please don't place bids here as this is just an announcement, the auction is here

Pots' dimensions: 13x11x5cm

The winning bidder will be the one that posts the highest bid before the cutoff time of midnight GMT Sunday 22nd of November.

Please expect to add a reasonable amount to your bid, for packaging and postage. You will be notified by the potter how much this is.

If you are unsuccessful, don’t despair, there are several more potters and pots to come.

The reason for our fundraising drive is to purchase hosting for a new website to run alongside this forum.

Finance details

Any possibilities of keeping us all informed of the details of the IBC finances? Perhaps if people know how much was needed (including plans for new projects, hosting schemes, etc.) they'd be more generous.

Of course, this reminds me it has been awhile since I've donated... Very Happy

Hi Mike,

We are awaiting transfer of funds from our previous treasurer. Currently we believe that there is $229 in the bank account and $554 in Paypal. There has been no hurry to get this completed as there has been no need for any money. We are in the process of setting up a new Paypal account, so that the new treasurer can access it for me.

This is a healthy position whilst we are still on the free server. Once we purchase webspace, we will once more have the internetbonsaiclub.org domain active and be able to set up the website for our Articles section (the old Knowledge Base). This will involve annual webspace fees and a biennial domain name fee. I am still researching the costs for this, as there is a balance between fees and services.

I had considered putting a Paypal donate button on a page, but Dale's pot auction is going so well, and with nine more, willing potters standing in the wings, I don't think that we will need one!
